Aaron Eckhart Biography

Aaron Edward Eckhart is an American film and stage actor. He is the son of Mary Martha Eckhart(Poet) and James Conrad Eckhart(Computer Executive). He earned a diploma through an adult education course, and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film.

Eckhart first gained wide exposure in 2000 as George in Steven Soderbergh's critically acclaimed film, Erin Brockovich (2000), and in 2006 received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of Nick Naylor in Thank You for Smoking. He next appeared in Nurse Betty (2000), The Pledge (2001), The Missing(2003). In 2004, Aaron Eckhart starred on the London stage, opposite Julia Stiles, in David Mamet's Oleanna at the Garrick Theatre. Also in 2008, Eckhart portrayed the comic book character, Harvey Dent, in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, the sequel to the 2005 film Batman Begins.

Internationally viewed as a sex symbol, Aaron Eckhart was named one of People magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People in 2006. Eckhart had relationship to actress Emily Cline whom he met during filming of In the Company of Men, but they separated in 1998. He also dated country music songwriter and member of SHeDAISY, Kristyn Osborn, from 2006-2007.
