Amerie also known as Ameriiei s an American singer, record producer and actress. Amerie was born to Korean mother, Mi Suk (Artist) and African American father, Charles.
Amerie debuted in 2002 with the album "All I Have", primarily co-written and produced by Rich Harrison, whom she met up at a McDonald's parking lot, and performed a song for him in her car. All I Have debuted at number nine on the U.S. Billboard 200. Her another music album 'Touch" was released on April 26, 2005, and debuted at number five on the Billboard 200. It was nominated for two Grammy Award nominations in 2006.
Amerie's third album was "Because I Love It". It was released on May 14, 2007. Her fourth album- In Love & War release in 2009 was a fusion of hip-hop, soul and rock with elements of '70s music. The album's lead single, "Why R U", charted at number 55 on the Billboard Hot R&B/ Hip-Hop Songs chart in the U.S. Her other albums are BILI (Because I Love It: Vol. II) and Cymatika.
In March of 2015, Ameriie collaborated with her long-time friend and producer, Rich Harrison, after ten years, on a single entitled "Out Loud".
Amerie featured in her first acting role in the 2004 film First Daughter portraying the role of Mia Thompson, a college student who rooms with the president's daughter. She co-starred alongside actress Katie Holmes.
Amerie began dating her manager, Lenny Nicholson in 2004 and were officially engaged on March 1, 2010. The couple married on June 25, 2011.
