It is hard to believe that Cameron's first movie role was playing the female lead in the hilarious Jim Carrey triumph The Mask. She did an excellent job, and came as a surprise to everyone who saw the movie. People were without a doubt looking around and asking each other; "who is she and where did she come from?"
The truth is, Cameron Diaz born in San Diego, California on August 30, 1972 started out as a model who left home to live in Japan when she landed a contract with the Elite Modeling Agency. Soon she was modeling all over the world, from Mexico to Australia, from Paris to Morocco, she continued building her modeling career and earning a great living. Cameron started to appear in different advertisements. She appeared in ads for Calvin Klein, Coca-Cola, and Levi's. She even graced the cover of the July 1990 issue of Seventeen magazines.
Soon though, Cameron decided that modeling was not enough for her. She decided to move on to acting. After auditioning for "The Mask", she got the role. The movie proved to be a success, but after making her mark Cameron decided to take on some independent film roles in such movies as Fleeting Minnesota, She's the One, and others. Her next big role came when she appeared alongside Jennifer Aniston in the romantic comedy titled "My Best Friend's Wedding". After also starring in 'A Life Less Ordinary' (with Ewan McGreggor), Cameron landed the part that would be her biggest hit to-date; There's Something About Mary, one of summer's biggest grossing movies. In 2001, she won nominations for Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards and the AFI Awards for Vanilla Sky.
Diaz has publicly admitted she is deeply germophobic and habitually rubs doorknobs so hard before opening doors to clean them that the original paint on the doorknobs fades afterwards. "I'm not scared of germs. I'm just aware of them," Diaz says.
Cameron Diaz publicly talks about dealing with stress and says her favorite way to relax is to have sex; adding "Sex is the most amazing stress reliever... I actually think it’s the best thing for everything".
