Vanessa Lorenzo Biography

Her blonde tresses and expressive blue eyes would never lead you to think she is Spanish, but Catalonian Vanessa Lorenzo was born in Barcelona 24 years ago. Measuring a mere 5?6" (1.70 cm.), she is undoubtedly a petite model, but that hasn't eclipsed her rising star nor hampered the consolidation of her international career. Rarely does one encounter a career as longstanding as hers in this short-lived occupation. Add her early start to this profile and you know we are talking about a true "long distance runner."

Born under the strong sign of Capricorn, Vanessa started when she was just ten years old. Later, at the age of 17, she left Spain for Paris where a local modeling agency thought her figure and characteristics would do well in the City of Lights.

"But the day after I arrived, they rushed me to London," recalls Vanessa, "I hardly spoke English and I remember being scared. Pepe Jeans called me and I shot their campaign in London. After that I began to work internationally. I lived in Paris for three years, but always returning to Spain, because my family lived, and still does, in Barcelona."

Regarding her life in Paris she comments, "I felt really homesick. Paris is a very cold city - especially the people there - and you feel this more intensely when you're very young and your friends and family are not around. Getting ahead was difficult."

Vanessa Lorenzo currently lives in New York with her boyfriend, also model, Jordi Rosell󮠗e are in the shade on a beautiful sunny day in the Spanish city. As she speaks, her enthusiastic articulateness pulls me into her world. Her voice rises and falls as a roller coaster while she recounts each memory, each adventure making the experience of listening to her a very entertaining one.
